Request a swatch

For upholsterers and designers

You know what a cutting for approval is and why a dye lot matters. This is how an order works with us, from the first sample to fabric arriving at the workroom.

  1. Memo sample

A swatch with its spec sheet attached: width, repeat, match, content, abrasion and method, cleaning code and flammability. Enough to show a client and to check against the piece.

  2. Cutting for approval

Before we cut your order, we send a cutting from the actual roll you'll receive, so you approve the colour of that dye lot, not of a sample from a past one.

  3. Hold the lot

Once you approve the cutting, we ask the supplier to hold that lot while your client signs off, for as long as the supplier allows.

  4. Cut and ship to the workroom

Customer's own material (COM) goes straight to your workroom, labelled with the job name, the yardage and the dye lot, with the spec sheet in the parcel.

Tell us about the job

The piece, how it'll be used, the yardage from your cutting plan, the look and any spec the client needs, such as an abrasion level, a cleaning code or a flammability standard. We come back with options that meet it and send memo samples.
